Gorgeous, functional bag,
I first saw this bag on another site and fell in love with it, but hesitated before buying it, only because the reviews for the other timi & leslie bags were very mixed. Some people complained that the straps broke easily, and one reviewer mentioned that she thought she had been sold a knock-off on Amazon, after seeing that her friend’s identical bag was a much better design. I decided to contact the manufacturer, and I received a very detailed email assuring me that steps have been taken to improve their bag design, including using more durable material, reinforcing all straps and hardware, and also upgrading to more durable hardware. They have a one year warranty, so I figured I had nothing to lose. I can only assume that the reviewer who mentioned the knock-off bag actually purchased the older version, while her friend had the redesigned bag. The bag itself is absolutely gorgeous and truly looks like leather, and I love that I can wipe it clean after taking it to the park. The hardware is definitely a bronze/burnished color, and not the bright gold that was previously used. I also did not notice any strange or artificial smell, as other reviewers have mentioned in the past.
I’m planning to use this bag mostly as a purse, but also as a diaper bag to carry my two young sons’ diapers, drinks, wipes, and change of clothing with me as needed. The bag comes with lots of great accessories, and I’m using the small clutch as my makeup bag, though it can definitely be used on its own as a tiny handbag. I love how deep the pockets are, and there are tons, but my favorite feature has got to be the two built-in drink/bottle holders. Since I live in Texas, I never leave home without a water bottle for my boys and myself, and this way, I can put them in my purse and go. There’s even a removable bottle holder, and it is big enough for a sippy cup, so I have a place for all three water bottles.
The bag is a lovely grayish-blue, and it looks very upscale. I’ve received tons of compliments on it already, and nobody believes me when I tell them it’s a diaper bag. It really looks very high-end, which I like, so I can carry it with confidence when I’m out without my children. I’m so thrilled with this purchase, and I really think timi & leslie designs a lovely bag.
